An Oregon native, Adam happily settled his family in Alsea after serving as a sniper in the U.S. Army and deploying to Iraq three times. Being involved in various aspects of forestry, Adam became a member of the Associated Oregon Loggers, earning his Oregon Professional Logger certification and starting a tree removal business. Gradually, it became clear that the best way to involve children in forestry work was by producing firewood. The Skaer kids can often be seen providing valuable “supervision” during firewood deliveries! So, unlike gas or oil, it releases no net carbon.
